Have you ever popped open the back of an electronic device? A phone, calculator or computer? Well then you have probably seen a circuit board. Specifically a printed circuit board. These circuit boards were hugely responsible for the decrease in size and cost of our electronics.
Before these boards, wires had to be run to each point individually. Now, instead, traces on the circuit board, thezig-zag lines you see, act as the “wires." These can connect many different elements that have been attached to the PCB.
The circles you see on the board can be a few things. Some of them are actually holes through the circuit board called drill holes, while others are annular rings of copper around various holes.

Wheatstone Bridge Circuits
Wheatstone bridges were invented in the 1830s by Samuel Christie, but were later brought into more frequent use by Charles Wheatstone. Wheatstone bridges actually provide very accurate measurements and are still used even though technologies have improved.
A wheatstone bridge is a simple circuit that is used for finding an unknown resistance. Circuits are connections electrons flow from a source, carrying energy. Each of the four zig-zag lines on the earrings represents a resistor in a circuit, as shown to the right. Resistors are put into circuits to lower current flow and voltage.
If three of the resistances and the voltage being applied to the wheatstone bridge are known, then the last unknown resistance can be found using a simple formula.
